Sharjah Women’s Campus

The Higher College of Technology (HCT) – Sharjah Women’s campus (SJW) was established in 1997 is one of the two HCT campuses based in Sharjah’s University City, serving the post-secondary educational needs of Sharjah and the two neighboring emirates of Ajman and Umm Al Qwain. The colleges offer a variety of programs that integrate both academic and practical experience, based on an experiential learning educational philosophy, ensuring students have successful and rewarding career paths. The programs offered are in the field of Applied Media, Business, Computer Information Science, Engineering Technology, Health Sciences and Education.

All classrooms and computer labs are equipped with state of the art technologies in addition to a number of blended learning rooms that enable classes to be conducted from different campuses simultaneously. In addition, a broad range of services and support mechanisms are provided to SJW students, including leadership development, career exploration, community engagement, academic and personal counselling, sports and fitness, and an active campus life covering a wide range of events and activities. The Sports Complex, located between Sharjah Men’s and Women’s campuses, serving both campuses on allocated timings. It has a range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a fully equipped Life Fitness weights room and cardio room, 50m Olympic swimming pool and a multipurpose Sports hall.

SJW is home to one of three InnCuVation spaces launched by HCT, which have been set up to assist entrepreneurial HCT students to incubate, and eventually commercialize, their innovative projects. The spaces are an integral part of the HCT 4.0 strategic initiative of Graduating Companies, and are aligned to the UAE government’s 50-Year Charter relating to universities becoming free zones, as well as the National Innovation Strategy. The space is learner-centered that is creative, immersive, collaborative, inclusive and personalized. The innovators can incubate entrepreneurial and innovative ideas, transform them into viable projects and patents, and participate in leading competitions.

The SJW Child Care Center provides an exceptional service for College students and staff by insuring a warm, happy and friendly environment for their children. It also provides high quality experiences for Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood students by allowing flexible access to observation and research for courses and individual projects.
