Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering Technology

Student Outcomes:

  1. Apply the principles of mathematics, chemistry, and other basic sciences to identify, define, analyze and solve technical problems encountered in chemical engineering.
  2. Apply the concepts of thermodynamics, transport phenomena, chemical reaction kinetics, to the design, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes.
  3. Apply the principles of process control and use chemical engineering software in the design, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes.
  4.  Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chemical engineering equipment and processes and comply with health and safety requirements.
  5. Ability to integrate onsite work experience with chemical engineering principles and be able to present the integration in the form of a detailed project report.
  6. Ability to conduct various experiments according to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards and directly related to the oil and gas industries.
  7. Ability to perform process and equipment design and understand chemical separation processes.
  8.  Ability to conduct advanced Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Study to chemical processes in order to assess the risk of chemical accidents in order to insure maximum safety to people and the environment.
  9. Solve advanced technical problems and apply decision making to optimize processes.
