The HCT recognizes outstanding achievements by students through a range of wards and scholarships.
Chancellor’s Awards
These awards are given to students who have made the most significant contribution to college life throughout the final academic year, while maintaining a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above in each semester of their final academic year. One award is given in each of the programs at every college.
Industry Awards
Many awards are sponsored by specific companies for outstanding graduates in the appropriate program such as:
- American Hospital Award – Medical Imaging Technology
- Asea Brown Boveri Award – Mechanical Engineering
- Barclays Bank Award – Business Information Technology
- Bechtel Award – Civil Engineering
- Ernst and Young Award – Business and Management (Accounting)
- Fast Lane Award – Computer Network Technology
- Huawei Technology Award – Computer Network Technology (Bachelor)
- KPMG Peat Marwick Award – e-Commerce / e-Business Management
- New Medical Center Speciality Hospital Award – Pharmacy Higher Diploma
- Nortel Network Award – Electronic Engineering
- Xerox Emirates Award – Business Administration
- University of Melbourne Award – Bachelor of Education English Language Teaching in Schools
Abu Dhabi Industry Award
The Abu Dhabi Industry Awards are awarded to top HCT graduates in Bachelor, Higher Diploma and Diploma programs.
Rashid Award
Students graduating with Distinction with Honors in any program may also be eligible for the Rashid Award and the appropriate recognition, depending on the criteria established by the Rashid Awards Committee.
Fulbright Scholarships for Graduates
The UAE Fulbright program provides funding for up to two years of graduate study, such as a masters or doctoral program, in the United States of America. Fulbright Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, strong English language skills, leadership qualities and a commitment to improving cross-cultural relations through international exchange.
Citi Foundation Bachelor Scholarships
Higher Diploma graduates who wish to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business may be eligible for sponsorship through a Citi Foundation Scholarship. These scholarships benefit students with a proven academic track record, allowing them to upgrade their qualifications in response to industry needs and to promote life-long learning.
Director’s List
Students in good standing may be placed on the Director’s List, which is published and maintained at the individual colleges. Students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or above in order to be placed on the list. The minimum required credit hours vary with each program and are detailed in the HCT Catalogue.
